MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SPORTS IRISH AID FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2013 ACADEMIC YEAR



Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandan scholars to compete for post graduate (Masters and post graduate diploma) scholarships tenable in Ireland, African region and Ugandan Universities for 2013 academic year.
The priority field studies are;
1. Education Sector
2. Governance
3. Environmental sustainability
4. Gender
Eligibility
Applicants must have identified a suitable study program in Ireland, Africa region or with in Uganda and must have admissions for the study program.Cadidates to apply for these scholarships should be from the ministry of Education and Sports headquarters, institutions under the ministry, district education officials and employees of civil society organisations in education sector.Cadidates must have a minimum of three working years of experience in the area they want to study. Women and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
Requirements
To be eligible for an Irish Aid Fellowship,
Applicants must:
1.       Be a citizen of Uganda
2.       Be residing and currently in Uganda
3.       Have achieved the necessary standard to be accepted onto a post Graduate course in a Higher Education Institute in Ireland or within the region
4.       Have a minimum of three years’ work experience in development
5.       Have identified a relevant college in a higher Education Institute in Ireland or within the region
6.       Be applying to commence a new qualification and not seeking for funds for one already commenced
7.       Be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to development of their country
8.       Be able to take up the fellowships in the academic year in which it is offered

Hand written application indicating age, sex, home district, telephone contacts together with photocopies of academic certificates and transcripts should be addressed to;

§  The Harambe Fletcher Scholarship is a full-tuition award for young African entrepreneurial leaders wishing to pursue a master program at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, starting in September 2013. The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Harambe Bretton Woods Symposium VI, April 5–8, 2013.
§  Full-tuition to attend a master program at The

§  Invitation to the Harambe Bretton Woods Symposium
§  Recognition as an Associate of the Harambe Alliance with all the benefits and privileges thereof
Please note that the scholarship is limited to tuition fees.
The recipient is responsible for all living expenses.

    Master of International Business (MIB) - A two-year hybrid international business/ international affairs degree program

§  Exhibited entrepreneurial leadership in their field of interest
§  Two or more years of work experience
§  Hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent- Candidates must arrange to have official university transcripts, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores arrive at The Fletcher School by the appropriate application deadline
Application Procedure
·         Candidates must apply and be admitted to both Harambe and The Fletcher School
·         Candidates must complete online HEA
·         Application by December 30, 2012
