We currently have two (2) Area Precision Ag Specialists job openings at our Simplot Grower Solutions retail locations in Ft. Morgan, Colorado (1 position) and Berea, Nebraska (1 position).

Position Summary:
The role of the Area Precision Ag Specialist is to provide GIS and Agronomic technical support to the SGS Crop Advisors and other support staff to maximize the Company's effort to capitalize on the potential of Precision Agriculture.

Responsibilities:

• Provides technical support to SGS Crop Advisors and support staff on Precision Ag technology. Provide any needed IT technical support along with Integrating IT advances into SGS sales force to assist in providing solutions to customer needs for products and services
• Responsible for mapping including generating prescription maps; field; variable rate irrigation ; yield analysis; boundary. Making recommendations for zone creation and geo-spatial analysis
• Assists the SGS Crop Advisors with soil sampling and collection of ec/em data.
• Maintains precision ag equipment and makes recommendations to customers regarding equipment. Design and collection of test plot data

Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree is required in computer science or agronomy or related field and/or 3 years of related experience or training
• Must have some agronomic experience
• Knowledge of ArcView, Spatial Analyst, and GIS highly desired, but not required
• Position will require traveling up to 50% of the time
• Strong computer background and skills required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems and do so with minimum supervision required
