JOB DESCRIPTION:
These duties & responsibilities are intended to generally describe the nature & level of work performed by the teacher.

Temporary Assignment for Discovery Program.

Monday-Thursday from 1:30-5:45, paid by timesheet at $33.00/hour

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona Teacher Certificate

2. Certificate with approved area of content may be required depending on assignment

3. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

4. Compliance with applicable No Child Left Behind, “highly qualified” standard

5. Appropriate endorsement may be required depending on area of instruction

6. SEI Provisional or Full Endorsement or Bilingual Endorsement

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Continue professional growth to maintain current pedagogy content knowledge & best practices; Effectively implement State Standards & district curriculum;

Knowledge of students & ability to individualize instruction appropriately; Select appropriate instructional goals; Utilize all available resources to enhance instruction;

Design & implement coherent instruction; Effectively assess student learning; Create an environment of respect & rapport; Establish a culture for learning;

Effectively manage classroom procedures; Effectively manage student behavior; Optimize physical space & resources for safety & usage; Communicate clearly & accurately with all audiences;

Use effective questioning & discussion techniques; Engage students in meaningful learning; Provide useful & timely feedback to students; Demonstrate flexibility & responsiveness; Reflect on teaching & vary techniques & approaches accordingly;

Maintain accurate records; Communicate well with parents, students, staff & administrators;

Contribute to the school & district; Grow & develop professionally; Demonstrate professionalism at all times; Follow all administrative procedures & polices of the school & district.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
