Responsibilities:
CHS has an exciting opportunity at our Processing and Food Ingredients division. We are looking for a Production Shift Manager to supervise all operational work activities for the designated shift to assure the production of food safe products in an efficient manner. You must be organized, detail oriented, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You will:
    Manage the processing operations during the shift assigned.
    Schedule, supervise and delegate work assignments for plant employees.
    Be responsible that work practices and procedures are being followed, to ensure that food product is safe for human consumption and meets all corporate and customer requirements.
    Ensure that safety policies, procedures and regulations are being adhered to by all employees.
    Ensure that all applicable government regulatory agency (OSHA, EPA, FDA) requirements are being followed.
    Establish production schedules that allow for the production of product in the most efficient manner while meeting customer delivery requirements.
    Monitor plant equipment and work with maintenance to maintain equipment reliability through coordinated repair and replacement.
    Perform gap analysis on all areas of the operation and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to improve the process.
    Meet the operational budget goals while complying with all internal and external safety and environmental requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

    Associate degree with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or processing plant environment or High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or processing plant environment
    1+ years of previous supervisory and/or leadership experience
    General understanding of process flow and machine interaction
    Prior experience in Food Safety (HACCP, SQF)
    Must be able to work 12 hour shifts including overnights, weekends and holidays
    Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs


Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor degree
    Previous manufacturing experience in a soy protein facility
    (HACCP) Certified
