Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Solution Testing Leader you will help lead a global team responsible for Testing and Automation standards, practices and Testing tools. You will be responsible for supporting Test Management to shape and implement process and tools standards related to the strategic direction from the Testing Strategy Team. In addition you will provide Strategic direction around the Automated Testing service providing Automation capabilities working both individually as a technical expert whilst driving the team responsible for Automated Testing

Essential Functions of the Job:
* Implement and manage strategic initiatives to support global Solution Testing Team (STT) activities including standards, strategies and roadmaps

* Enhance and maintain test standards and methodologies into the IT organization related to the wider Testing team, automation and the Testing Tools

* Identify and recommend changes to enhance the effectiveness of software quality assurance strategies

* Manage the Framework around Automation Capabilities and Standards to be able to offer a Service Offering to our clients

* Create, support and socialize the build out of the Automation guidelines

* Develop, maintain, and provide training on Automated testing procedures

* Ensure that Automated tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved

* Support the HP ALM Tool Framework and continue to integrate the tool with the test process

* Define the standards for other Tool selections to embed into the Testing organization

* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT Solutions functions and customers to expedite delivery of solutions

* Support Solutions Testing Leadership in upward stakeholder management and day-to-day management of the Testing organization

* Participate in program/project review meetings. Support STT Management in determining status, assessing problem areas, suggesting and reviewing corrective actions, directing/planning necessary extra work, and rework and re-plan activities

* Assist in the recruitment and on boarding of new team members

* As required adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

* Provide expert technical guidance to team members, colleagues and/or customers

* Provide insightful recommendations to Testing Managers and team leads for process improvement

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
* Adopt a logical and orgainised approach to problem resolution

* Ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions

* Willingness to learn and quick to adapt to changing requirements

* Good numerate / numerate / mathematical ability

* Proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options

* Ability to prioritise personal and team workloads to best meet organisational objectives

Supervision Responsibilities:
* Where appropriate be accountable for the performance and results of a team of analysts in delivering testing within a project

* Assist in the training and development of staff members to develop their skills and maintain industry-leading knowledge in their areas of responsibility

* Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of team members

* As required set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors

* Review and endorse the selection of and be responsible for the performance management of staff members

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle including Functional & Non-Functional Test Phases

* Expert knowledge of Automated Testing protocols

* Excellent knowledge of current Test Tools in the market place

* Excellent attention to detail

* Ability to work and team effectively with clients and other management personnel across geographies

* Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change

* Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure

* Good time management, interpersonal, communication, organizational and decision-making skills

* Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and lead virtual cross-cultural, cross-border teams

* English language skills – excellent written and verbal communication

Experience:
 Minimum of 10 years experience in IT Quality Assurance and Testing or related discipline
 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Automated and Testing Tools decisions
 Ideally experienced in the HP Toolset including Quality Centre, Performance Centre and Quick Test Professional
 Excellent experience in client-facing roles with blue chip organisations
 Good experience of leading small-med size teams in project delivery
 Good experience of working within multi-location teams i.e. global

Education:
 Bachelor degree in related discipline, or equivalent work experience
 One or more professional certificates to supplement formal education

Certification Requirements:
 Attained ISEB Foundation in Software Testing or equivalent
 Attained or working towards ISEB Practitioner in Software Testing or equivalent

Other Requirements:
 Due to the nature of the Global organisation, travel may be required
