The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 16 countries and at over 5,500 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Job Summary
The Development Officer will provide a high-level support for the fundraising goals of a fast-paced development department, provide a particular support for fundraising initiatives to include event production, cultivating major donors, scheduling donor visits with Foundation leadership, developing and working with high net worth volunteers and stewardship activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning and production of fundraising and cultivation events including;
- A Time for Heroes/Los Angeles
- Global Champions/ Los Angeles
- Selected major donor Africa trips
- Film screenings
- Brunches, Lunches, & Cocktail Receptions
- Responsible for monitoring and updating the internal project plans and budgets for all Los Angeles events.
- Manage the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of EGPAF (primarily Los Angeles) donors with the potential to make major gifts in coordination with the development team.
- Work with the development team to create an annual development plan and participate in activities to make sure that the team meets the annual goals.
- Responsible for quarterly stewardship interactions for major donors, for annual donor mailings including annual reports, holiday cards, and for other duties as required.
- Manage a portfolio of donors along with the weekly on-going moves management action reports on the progress of the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 5 years of relevant progressive development experience with the ability to show results from past development campaigns
- 7 to 9 years of non-profit experience, especially in global health or children's causes
- Self-starter with ability to see the big picture
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations
- Ability to travel as needed
- Basic, working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
