SUMMARY
The Business Analyst works with business subject matter experts, end-users and IT staff to comprehensively define business requirements for software and accurately translate those requirements into business and system specifications documents. As a Business Analyst in the financial industry, projects and reports deal with financial data, and therefore a high degree of quantitative and analytical skills is a must.  This position has the additional responsibility of managing the projects assigned.  Based on the needs, scope and complexity of the project, the business analyst will be required to create project plans, work breakdown structures and other PM artifacts.

Responsibilities

•     Conduct and coordinate requirements gathering meetings (JAD sessions) with business subject matter experts (SMEs), end-users and IT staff
•     Work with Development, Quality Assurance, and user groups to develop detailed project specs, work breakdown structures, workflow and process diagrams, report designs, test plans and test cases
•     Execute all aspects of Project Management, including estimates, planning, documentation, monitoring project team, risk management
•     Be proactive, take ownership of all processes and deliverables pertaining to the project and help create an atmosphere of shared responsibility within the project team.
•     Work with the Applications Architect to define/document/modify the database entities
•     Analyzing and troubleshooting software in development and testing as needed
•     Coordinate and participate in System and Acceptance testing
•     Perform other related duties, as assigned

Requirements

•     Four-year degree
•     2+ years experience gathering business requirements for software development and translating those requirements into specifications documents
•     Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, analysis and document business requirements
•     High degree of quantitative and analytical skills
•     Deep experience with client server and web application development
•     Strong experience leading Joint Application Development sessions and creating use cases
•     Strong experience with relational database applications and comfortable writing moderately complex PL/SQL queries
•     Prefer experience in financial services, insurance, or consulting
•     Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks with accuracy, attention to detail, in a timely and reliable manner with a strong orientation to quality control
•     Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to team efforts and goals
•     Strong understanding of IT project methodology and SDLC
•     Flexibility in working with both classic and agile project management methodology
•     Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are not able to provide sponsorship at this time, nor can we offer relocation services.
