Manages technical programs and resource requirements for strategic and tactical development activities within the Snack's Popcorn and Seed Snacks Portfolio. Make technical recommendations to management used as a basis for business decisions. Develops strategic plans for development activities on multiple brands.
Position Responsibilities
Supervise assigned personnel with a demonstrated ability to inspire associates through strong leadership skills and participation in their development plans.
Responsible for associate recruitment, training, performance evaluation, feedback, and career development.
Recommend training tools to improve employee performance and support specific skill development.
Evaluate employee performance and recommend salary adjustments.
Leadership on key projects within R&D to support business objectives .
Management of new prototype development initiatives.
Identification & approve potential ingredient and manufacturing suppliers.
Breadth covers line extensions, product improvements, quality initiative and cost savings.
Responsibility for the preparation of project proposals.
Communication of program related issues and status to management.
Provide judgment and experience to assure that an appropriate level of technical common sense and discipline are being employed and utilized in business decisions.
Focus team efforts on meaningful quality initiatives to insure specifications are developed that consistently delight consumers.
Develop strong partnership with Quality partners to collaborate on initiatives.
Identify opportunities for competitive market advantage.
Through increased knowledge of ConAgra Foods business and interactions with all R&D groups and other functions, prepare plans and lead their execution against broad technical problems.
Position Qualifications
BS in Food Science or related field required. MS preferred
Minimum of 7 years experience.
Project and people management required.
Vast knowledge with food safety and government regulatory requirements.
Understanding of consumer testing methodology.
Excellent communication, negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
Expertise of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:

Walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
Walking and/or standing on various surface types
Lifting (note approximate weight and frequency, e.g. ability to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis, ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a sporadic basis)
