Job Description

BP Exploration Alaska (BPXA) recently awarded WorleyParsons the contract for CAT B Core Projects, which will be executed from the Anchorage satellite offices.  Notification for this Improve engineering procurement and management services contract was received in March 2013 and is and is part of the global BP on-shore alliance contract. With the recently announced extension, WorleyParsons and its subsidiaries has successfully secured 100% of the BP Alaska North Slope projects. This achievement reflects WorleyParsons vision to be the preferred, global provider of technical, project and operational support services to our customers.

    Assisting in problem solving for various departments, customers and vendors and when necessary creating and implementing changes in policies to facilitate a constantly changing and fast- growing business environment.
    Serves as financial consultant and advisor, participating in management and technical working groups and ad hoc panels as may be necessary for expediting solutions to problems.
    Attend meetings, prepare bi-weekly progress, review and prepare cost reports, updated manpower requirements, preparation and tracking of budgets with variances.
    Provide any additional reports as required by <web address removed> prior approval forms for any new hires, demobilization, merit/ other increases, direct costs/ expenses.
    Discuss issues and follow up with customer on urgent needs.
    Coordinate with Project controls and Accounts payable for accurate and timely billing and follow up on outstanding sales balances.
    Distributing and balancing the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, and assuring timely accomplishment of work.
    Being the team lead for Estimating, Scheduling and Project  and negotiates, directly or through subordinate staff, contracts; interprets contract terms; review contracts for compliance with financial terms; and approves solutions to contractual problems.
    Establish and maintain relationships with customers, customers, departments etc.
    Address all business/administrative issues.



Job Requirements:


  •     BA/BS degree in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent or relevant experience. 12 to 15 years of relevant experience including technical and supervisory experience is preferred.
  •     Manages work directly or indirectly through Managers. Manages multiple functional disciplines; Develops and oversees implementation of strategic programs and policies for their groups, which will have impact on the overall organization.
  •     Ability to manage multiple complex projects through others.
  •     Works frequently with executive management on significant matters influencing the organizations business results, which typically include global strategies. Ability to visualize and oversee the design of new concepts and ideas related to the broader organization as well as functional area of expertise and broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and lead organizational change effectively. Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals.
  •     The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive level management and/or the Board is critical.
  •     Ability to persuade and influence others is critical. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach.
  •     Proven leadership skills in multi-cultural and possibly multi-national environments.
  •     Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  •     General characterized as a manager with seasoned technical knowledge. Manages and directs through mid-level and senior level managers or first level directors.
  •     Typically will interface with lower level personnel, executive management, customers, and outside vendors.
