Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska that produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba, that produces anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminal assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.

Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC is seeking a motivated and self-driven Chemist to join our team in Beatrice, NE. This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to begin their career in the chemistry field. The Chemist will support the laboratory function within a complex chemical manufacturing facility. The Chemist will report to the Lab Manager and work directly with operations, engineering, environmental, transportation, and security personnel.

Responsibilities:

    Taking samples required to support the environmental programs, assist in optimizing the manufacturing process and final product quality
    Preparing samples for analysis
    Completing samples and reporting results
    Physical Requirements / Unusual Working Conditions:
    Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds
    Must have the ability to access ladders/stairs in excess of 100 feet
    Must be willing and available for periodic weekend work
    Must be able to periodically support a 24/7 continuous process chemical manufacturing plant

Requirements:

    2+ years of industry experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
    Education or experience developing methods to optimize the analysis process
    Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field from an accredited institution

Preferred:

    Experience operating basic lab equipment
    Proven capability to perform within a chemical manufacturing laboratory environment
