Responsibilities:
CHS has a great opportunity in our Transportation Division. We are looking for a Truck and/or Trailer Mechanic in Laurel, MT to perform all duties necessary to maintain our truck & trailer fleet. The successful candidate will have experience in truck and/or trailer repair and service, and pass all regulatory certifications. The incumbent must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
You will;
Responsible for truck and trailer repair including but not limited to; oil changes, P/M inspections, DOT inspections, brake and shoe replacement, suspension repair and replacement, air and electrical trouble shooting and repair, clutch adjustments and replacement, wire feed welding and some minor fabrication, rear end and transmission replacement, minor engine repair, heating and air conditioning repair.
Commit to study, and then follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Shop Safety & Policies Procedures Manual.
Commit to personal safety, the safety of others and safety to the environment.
Basic Qalifications:
Previous experience in truck and/or trailer repair.
Posses full set of hand tools and roll-away tool cabinet.
Work occasional overtime.
Commitment to total customer service.
Be willing to participate in the Companies training procedures and adopt procedures for service and repair of vehicles, equipment and facilities.
Must be able to pass the DOT physical, drug test and background check.
Pass all required regulatory certifications.
Be dedicated to the improvement of equipment and its maintenance in order to support operating departments with safe, reliable trucks, tractors and trailers that are in full compliance with all regulatory agencies at a cost commensurate with industry peers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational training or work experience. Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred, or be willing to obtain one. Class A Driver’s License Become familiar with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Part 396, Inspection Repair and Maintenance. Become familiar with Dept. of Transportation Hazardous Material Regulations HM 126, HM 181, HM 183 and all other pertinent State and Federal regulations as they may apply.
