Position Overview:
We have an opening for an Engineering & Field Services Manager reporting to the General Manager based out of our Conshohocken location.​  This individual will be responsible for engineering, design, development and testing of protective relay, control and metering schemes associated with generation, transmission and distribution substations.​

Essential Functions:

·          Manage RPS Engineering staff.​

·          Administer and enforce company policies and procedures to staff.​

·          Prepare and deliver annual performance evaluations to staff.​

·          Train and develop staff effectively.​ Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis.​ Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.​

·          Establish and monitor annual goals and budget objectives.​

·          Estimate, bid and schedule the engineering, design and field service activities for projects.​

·          Manage and monitor all field service activities assigned to Engineering staff; work in the field as required.​

·          Participate on Project Teams as the Lead Engineer responsible for providing engineering expertise and managing the design and testing activities on projects as required.​

·          Responsible for developing conceptual design-basis drawings/​sketches (single lines, schematics, logic diagrams, physical layouts, etc.​) from customer specifications.​

·          Implement QA/​QM document and design control processes to ensure compliance to all project requirements, specifications and standards.​

·          Supervise factory acceptance tests of systems in our production facility and the installation and testing of relaying and control systems at the customer sites, if required.​

·          Create the Bill of Material for projects as required.​
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

·          Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering plus commensurate experience.​

·          Licensed Professional Engineer.​

·          15 years of experience in engineering, design and testing of substation power equipment, relaying and control systems.​

·          Previous engineering management experience.​

·          Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.​g.​ Word, Excel, etc.​).​

·          Strong oral and written communication skills.​

·          Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.​

·          Strong interpersonal skills.​

·          Strong analytical skills.​

·          Strong customer orientation.​

·          Ability to work with limited supervision.​

·          Strong problem solving skills.​

·          Maintain confidentiality.​

·          Valid driver’s license.​

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Experience with the application of protective relaying, substation integration and SCADA systems.​

Project management experience.​Substation design and field engineering experience.​
