Candidate will support and assist Client Operations and other operational Shared Service teams/COE's by performing daily maintenance of accounting books and records of assigned regulated investment companies in conformity with Company policy as well as the rules, regulations and tax laws that apply. Candidate will ensure prompt follow up on exception situations and facilitate timely problem resolution to mitigate risk to the corporation and deliver excellent service to clients.
Candidate is responsible for performing daily processes accurately and in accordance with defined time frames and client requirements. Candidate may have daily contact with Client Service, Client Management, COEs and BU Shared Service teams. Consults with manager where clarification or exception to policy may be required.
Overall Responsibilities:
Reviews and validates all daily activity in an accurate and timely manner, and maintains all required controls to ensure overall accuracy
Calculates and processes fund activities
Works in conjunction with individuals on the team as well as other shared services/COEs, India and Client Operations to ensure seamless processing according to the fund's policies
Supports the production of fund Net Asset Values
Supports the research and resolution process for exceptions and inquiries
Provides information needed to prepare financial statements and reports for client, shareholder, director and management reports, in an accurate and timely manner
Prepares proofs as needed
Reviews corporate actions
Remains familiar with back-up procedures when system applications and/or transmission problems arise
Maintains records in support of audits
May perform other duties as requested
Accounting Specific Responsibilities
Populates components of SEC Yield, as necessary
Reconciles fund share transactions and resolve discrepancies
Money Market Accounting Specific Responsibilities:
Calculates and processes fund activities such as distributions, yields, expenses, income and allocations
Reconciles fund share transactions and resolve discrepancies
Bachelor's degree with business related coursework preferred. B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
0-1 years of experience in accounting, finance, mutual fund operations, and loan servicing or related careers (preferred).
Strong computer competence (Microsoft applications {Excel, Word etc.},
