My global clients are looking for an experienced, dynamic and proven Conference Portfolio Manager to drive the production function and play a key role in events strategy for growth and development.

This role involves a combination of rigorous market research and topic generation, development and delivery of high-growth strategies for LSEs, collaborative brand team interworking, industry networking and opportunity making, project leadership, team management and delivery of the annual divisional P&L.

This is a fast track role and as such calls for an ambitious, hard working, talented individual who has delivered consistently and is ready for a major step up in their career.

You will have significant input into the overall divisional growth plans. Regular reporting, forecasting and budgeting will be required.

Key Tasks

• Manage a team of conference producers supporting them in delivering their schedule of conferences on time and to budget
• Provide a continuous program of production specific and general training to ensure the growth and development of the team and production function
• Work collaboratively and closely with colleagues to identify and exploit new commercial conference opportunities
• Generate and validate a schedule of highly commercial conference topics across advanced manufacturing markets in North America
• Track the performance of each conference and drive the performance of the sales and marketing channels
• Ensure the delivery of the annual conference division P&L

Experience required

• Strong degree-level qualification
• 4-5 years conference production and portfolio management experience in a commercial conference company
• Track record of consistent delivery of results in a target driven environment
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful LSE growth strategies
• Ability to spot new commercial conference opportunities in a mature and crowded market
• Skilled collaborator with internal and external partners to gain buy-in and drive-through change
• Exceptional team building, people management and training skills
• Strong English language skills, both written and oral
• Experience of working within the pharma and life sciences could be an advantage, or experience in engineering or manufacturing markets (however not essential)
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
