Responsibilities:

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our wholesale Crop Nutrient’s Division. We are looking for an energetic self starter to become our new Account Manager in the Southern Plains Region. You will establish CHS as the preferred supplier within the state of Texas. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be customer focused with the ability to build long-lasting business relationships.

This position will work out of a home office in the assigned region:

You will:
    Be responsible for 250-300 thousand tons of fertilizer.
    Establish CHS as the preferred supplier within the state of Texas.
    Establish strategic marketing plans to achieve company objectives for Crop Nutrient’s products.
    Train & develop new hires, mentor junior staff, take a more senior leadership role within the group.
    Promotes sales, introduce the Crop Nutrient programs, and provide account service.
    Develop new business and grow existing business to meet regional & personal goals.
    Prepare and conduct sales presentations, contracts, and proposals.
    Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers, customers, & colleagues
    Communicate marketing, supply & sales information to internal & external customers
    Oversee & evaluate market research, adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market & competitive conditions.
    Supply Change Management: manage relationships with manufacturers; negotiate contract terms & conditions for all products.
    Manage budget & expenses, forecast product supply & demand by account,
    Evaluate account credit needs and extend credit in accordance with CHS policies.  Monitor credit liability and manage the collection of accounts receivable.
    Manage third-party warehousing agreements.
    Partner and work with your Crop Nutrients colleague, as well as the entire CHS Enterprise, with     a focus toward the CHS Country Operations retail division.
    Oversee & evaluate market research, adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market & competitive conditions.
    Establish and maintain relationships with key industry, strategic community partners, and be involved with state and industry associations.
    Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
    Travel will be 30-40%


Basic Qalifications:

    4 year degree in Ag Business or 10 years of fertilizer /crop nutrient experience
    5 plus years of experience with the following:
        Supply, sales & marketing of agriculture products
        Developing & implementing sales & marketing plan
        Managing a budget and P&L
        Selling & negotiating
        Market pricing & contract negotiations
    Knowledge of commodity markets and risk management tools
    Knowledge of excel, word and power point office programs
    Ability to travel 30-40%


Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge within the crop nutrient business.
