We currently have a full-time Biotech Regulatory Compliance Manager position available within our Plant Sciences Research Department in Boise, Idaho.

OVERVIEW:
Develop systems for managing all aspects of compliance with federal, state and local regulations for biotech crops.
This includes the USDA, FDA, and EPA but specifically with the EPA regarding Experimental Use Permits (EUP).
The Compliance Manager also elevates issues of significant regulatory risk to Plant Sciences Leadership Team.
Provides leadership in planning field studies with R&D, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to assure that all EPA requirements are met, including reporting test results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead Regulatory Compliance System development, implementation, and management for Simplot Plant Sciences. Provide oversight for all compliance relevant to the USDA, FDA, and EPA, but specializes in managing EPA Experimental Use Permits.

• Establish reputation with EPA managers of Simplot Plant Sciences as a responsible, yet innovative organization that openly collaborates with regulatory agencies.

• Meet federal and state requirements for managing regulated biotech crops that contain plant incorporated protectants and would be under the jurisdiction of the EPA. Obtain State and Federal clearance for experimental field trials, by communicating and consulting with U.S regulators and Simplot Plant Sciences Scientists. Coordinate and conduct compliance training to collaborators. Advise study directors and cooperators regarding site inspections to ensure compliance to applicable Federal and State regulations for conducting regulated activities using Biotech crops. Develop systems for information gathering and reporting as required by regulatory agencies.

REQUIREMENTS:
• B.S. (M.S. or PhD preferred) which could be from Agronomy, Biology, Molecular Biology, Business, Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, or other relevant majors.

• 5 -10 years of experience in Biotech Regulatory Compliance Systems, Agronomy, Potato Growing, Food Processing, Molecular Biology, Project Management, Plant Biology, Government Regulations, Knowledge of Plant Genetics, and Biotechnology.
