Position Summary:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, planning and overseeing construction of electrical projects and assists with the electrical portions of other project work as well. This position assists with the operation, maintenance, replacement, and upgrades of existing plant electrical equipment and systems. The incumbent will use appropriate resources to ensure that all projects are performed utilizing current adopted standards and accepted engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares electrical and instrumentation drawings and specifications.
• Develops a project work scope, schedule, cost estimate and plan for execution of the project.
• Performs project management functions including procurement, construction, and startup for all projects requiring electrical and instrumentation.
• Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
• Performs or oversees load studies, Arc Flash evaluation of new and existing electrical gear and relay coordination studies.
• Ensures electrical equipment and systems meet all safety standards and functions in a reliable fashion.
• Assists with major inspections and overhauls of plant electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Provides training and recommendations for electrical work and performs tasks working closely with plant electrical and instrumentation personnel.

Education/Experience:

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
• EIT or Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred
• 5-10+ years of demonstrated experience in designing and managing medium and high voltage electrical projects in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Experience with power distribution, power generation, protective device coordination, backup power systems, instrumentation and control systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively work with people
• Strong desire to learn with high level of initiative
