The Grain Storage Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operational activities of the grain storage facility to include loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, storage and fumigation of grain.
 The Manager will lead production associates in the performance of their duties to ensure production and quality objectives are attained or exceeded.  The Manager is required to provide job specific training, safety training, and environmental training to
ensure associates understand and are fully engaged in the production, safety and environmental processes that are required to meet operational and customer requirements.  The Manager will develop and initiate projects that will improve operational objectives.
The position will report to the Regional, Grain Manager.


Responsibilities:
Manage the facility to ensure the facility meets or exceeds established operational, safety, and environmental requirements.
Ensure the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Demonstrate safety leadership through participation in all safety processes with a goal of Zero incidents.
Recognize environmental, safety, and hazards and takes actions to insure the hazards are eliminated so as not to affect associate safety, product quality, and environmental purity.
Address associate concerns and maintain good communications and morale within the facility.
Work with associates to develop a high level of job proficiency.
Analyze maintenance performance and works to improve efficiencies.
Provide positive reinforcement when associates are observed producing good results and safe performance.
Maintain discipline within the facility and documents unusual or unacceptable behaviors.
Train and develop associates.
Able to troubleshoot and use mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings and grounds.
Collaborate with other facility management to utilize equipment to improve associate safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to systems design and operation.
Ensure policies and standards are followed in the execution of daily activities.

BS Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Agriculture or a related field
  • 5 - 7 years of experience.
  • Proven ability to achieve production, safety, and environmental goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of production management with ability to develop an understanding of plant processes and operational needs
  • Team player, respectful, and able to work independently or reach out for assistance when necessary
  • Ability to independently develop complex technical plans based on analysis of complex data sets used to identify trends and improvement activities
  • Demonstrated strong decision making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize activities to meet plant expectations and strategic objectives
  • Ability to work through others with strong delegation skills and accountability for results.
  • Ability to build associate engagement to improve plant results
  • Ability to coach associates effectively for their development
