Position Purpose:
Land O'Lakes is looking for talented Finance and Accounting candidates with strong leadership skills for our Summer Internship Program. As a Finance and Accounting Intern, you will become a key business team member working on special projects and assignments with tangible business impact in one of our departments. Potential departments include: Audit, Business Unit Accounting, Credit, Financial Planning and Analysis, SOX or Accounts Payable.

As an intern, you will be assigned specific responsibilities as a key member of the functional area. The internship is design to give you real world experience and exposure to one of the key areas of finance and accounting.

The audit position will be involved in the planning, execution and follow-up of at least one field audit. Tasks include conducting field interviews, sampling/testing and drafting of memos.

The business unit accounting positions will be in involved in month-end responsibilities in areas of cost accounting or general accounting. Tasks include monthly reconciliation, journal entries and month-end close processes.
The credit position will be involved in our credit management process. Tasks including following up with customers on late payments, analyzing companies credit limits and collecting company documentation.

The financial planning and analysis position works directly with the business unit, supply chain or corporate finance function. Tasks include various types of ad hoc analysis, special projects, variance analysis and working on quarterly forecasts.

The SOX position works directly with our internal controls team to document and test key internal control processes. Tasks include control documentation, quarterly testing and reporting key findings to management.

The accounts payable position works as a member of the accounts payable team. Tasks include processing of payments, key metric reporting and special projects

Qualifications:

Experience-Education (Required):

Pursuing a four-year degree in Business, Finance or an Accounting field at a Sophomore level or higher, carrying a 3.3 GPA or above.

Competencies-Skills (Required):
Strong attention to detail, strong curiosity to learn new things , finance/accounting knowledge, good communication skills, and quick learner
Fluent with Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
