Responsible for the effective and profitable management of assigned production plant.
Plans for and mobilizes resources needed to develop high quality seed on-time to meet delivery and stock transport schedules, plus manages distribution of other products. Manages internal and external relationships. Provides leadership to staff regarding operation of all their areas and responsibilities.
Organizational structures and jobs designed to meet results.
Workforce plans developed to determine future needs, how to best source candidates, etc.

Qualified workers attracted and retained.
Individual differences and talents leveraged and valued; work teams used and managed effectively.
Goals and priorities clarified, aligned, and well managed.
Performance management and development process utilized to coach and provide feedback to employees.
Individual and workgroup learning and continuous improvement encouraged.

Assistance from HR & Production Manager obtained as needed.
All personnel decisions (e.g., hiring, promotion, discipline, etc.) reviewed and approved.

Achievement of annual plan and budget business targets.
This includes, but is not limited to, identifying and interpreting local issues and trends, developing production and workforce projections, and developing and submitting capital and operational budgets for approval. Effective grower and support. Local optimization and on-time completion of production plans. Achievement of seed-quality plan standards.
Maintain high productivity.
Good working relationships with other groups in SM, growers, contract conditioners, etc. maintained. Positive community relations maintained via coordination and participation in public relations activities. Sale and use of Pioneer brand products promoted whenever possible.

Compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Wage & Hour Laws, etc.). Compliance with Production Operations, SM, and Company policies and guidelines. Input into Production Operations policies and guidelines provided. Adherence to Quality Plan and ISO procedures, including assuring up-to-date ISO documentation is maintained. Plant & field policies and standard operating procedures (e.g., work hours, allocation of acreage, etc.) developed and implemented.

Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business or related field, or equivalent amounts of education and experience. Minimum of 8 years experience in seed production management.
Experience in planning and goal setting, budgeting, and supervision important.
