 Brief Description

The Regional Sales Manager for the Water Treatment Group will be responsible for implementation of successful go-to-market strategies that drive profitable top-line growth by building customer loyalty, increasing specification share, developing key accounts, promoting new products, increasing channel strength, price management and sustaining a strong sales rep organization for the VAG, GA Industries, Fontaine and Rodney Hunt valve and sluice gate brands.

 The position will direct the sales and business development priorities of the independent Sales Representatives within a given region. Primary focus will be in the municipal and hydropower markets.

 This position will be located in the Northwestern region of the United States, with preference to the following cities: Portland, OR, or Seattle, WA.

Key Accountabilities
  •     Effectively deploy the Sales/WTG Strategic Plan within the core vertical markets, wholesale and specification channels
  •     Continually improve spec share gains at the top engineering firms in the region
  •     Manage the priorities of the sales reps to develop and implement successful go-to market strategies for owners, specifiers, contractors, and wholesalers
  •     Visit each Rep regularly, as strategically required, to make cooperative sales calls on municipalities, consulting engineers, contractors, and distributors. Manage the priorities of the sales reps to develop and implement successful go-to market strategies.  Lead the Reps to spend more time on our product line
  •     Leverage regional rep force to gain contacts that produce sales. Develop and build strategic customer relationships. Own the relationships at the highest that drive spec share (direct line, not through rep)
  •     Direct the price management process which includes value selling, implementation, market pricing, rebate programs, and profitability by customer, package, and spec strength strategies
  •     Be actively involved providing customers with assistance on projects in design to positively affect spec share in the region on a project-by-project basis
  •     Conduct seminars and brown bag luncheons in cooperation with the Reps
  •     Report the value and status of major outstanding quotations. Track projects that are won and lost and analyze the reasons to improve the winning percentage
  •     Be personally involved in getting our products specified and securing purchase orders for major projects
  •     Develop and continually upgrade a sustainable and scaleable sales rep organization within the region
  •     Negotiate large project pricing and terms
  •     Plan key local trade shows and participate in the national shows
  •     Provide representation within national industry organizations
  •     Be actively engaged in product development
  •     Deliver results based on sales and EBITDA targets
  •     Listen to the VOC and recommend process and/or product changes to increase spec share
Job Requirements

  •     Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, and/or Engineering Field
  •     Positive attitude and an energetic work ethic
  •     3+ years experience in sales, marketing, and/or commercial leadership roles
  •     Approximate travel, 50%
  •     Proficient with Windows, MS Office, and CRM systems
  •     Experience working with a highly motivated sales team
  •     Excellent verbal, written, management communication and presentation skills
