Our client is a leading global organization at the forefront of cutting edge technology and analytics. The firm is creating a next generation search product, using innovative techniques across machine learning, natural learning processing and text analytics. Through continued growth and the launch of a number of new projects for the remainder of 2013, we are seeking a hands on senior software engineer to take a key role in this small team based in Manhattan. You will need very strong quantitative skills as well as deep knowledge of Big Data, MapReduce, Graph Databases, Cloud Computing etc.
You will take a lead role in this flagship product and be responsible for all design and delivery, working closely with other technologists, quantitative analysts and end users.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience building large scale applications in java and experience within the financial domain will be a huge plus.
The team has just started its search and is looking to begin the interview process asap. Candidates from all locations will be considered, as long as they possess the required technical skills.

The Ideal Skill Set For Senior Java Engineer / Architect – Big Data/Machine Learning

-Extensive Java Development Experience

- Big Data Experience – BigData, MapReduce, Graph Databases, Cloud Computing

- Solid quantitative skills – statistics, machine learning, NLP etc

-Financial experience is a big plus

-Great communication skills

-Take a lead role in the design and development of the firms flagship financial product

-Full stage of the software development lifecycle from architecture/design through to delivery

-Introduce cutting edge BigData/Cloud computing techniques

-Use strong quantitative skills to design a truly innovative and cutting edge product
