Position Description:
We are currently seeking a Receiving Associate responsible for performing all physical and administrative tasks involved in the timely and accurate receiving of all incoming inventory and non-inventory shipments. This includes auditing of product counts and descriptions and the ultimate releases of same to either the named recipients or departments within Aesculap, QA Department or to stocks.
Responsibilities:
•Receives all incoming domestic and international shipments timely and accurately.
•Inspects and identifies any damages/shortages noted on all incoming shipments.
•Annotates carrier’s delivery receipt of any exceptions taken on the delivered goods, i.e., damages, shortages, etc.
•Have the carrier’s driver countersign on the delivery receipt if any exceptions are taken on the delivered goods.
•Logs all incoming shipments in the logbook.
•Opens all individual boxes/cartons.
•Checks items against packing slips and note all discrepancies, if any.
•Verifies part numbers, lot numbers, and quantity against invoice.
•Receives all goods through the AS/400 system for inventory items and through the SAP for non-inventory items.
•Generates, through the systems, required receiving reports and submit them to QA Department with the received goods.
•Releases all received goods to the appropriate individuals/departments or to stocks.
•Submits copies of all delivery receipts to Transportation Analyst.
•File all packing slips in the appropriate file binders.
•Follows procedures to ensure mix-ups, damage, and deterioration do not occur to materials during any stages of handling.
•Submit monthly activities report to the Materials Control Supervisor.
•Performs projects as assigned by Materials Control Supervisor, using independent judgment, and taking initiative to follow project through to conclusion.
•Operates a forklift
• Must comply with ISO and FDA regulation as stated in Quality Manual
• Must embody the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values.
•Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
•Minimum High school or GED is required.
- Minimum two years of Receiving & Shipping experience required; Warehouse experience preferred
•Normally requires procedural skills in reading, writing and basic arithmetic.
•Working knowledge of ISO/GMP requirements.
•Ability to work under minimum supervision.
•Previous experience working with mainframe based warehouse management systems preferred. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel software required.
• Strong demonstrated ability to be a team player and possess a positive attitude
• Lean or continous improvement knowledge is preferred
• Ability to work overtime and weekends is required
• OSHA and GMP knowledge preferred
