Lab Tech I - Velva, NDADM Velva CanolaThis is a full-time non-exempt level position. Base pay is commensurate with experience.
The Lab Tech is expected to uphold a commitment to the plant's safety and environmental programs and cultures along with participation in the safety and environmental programs as required by the plant manager's goals and objectives.
To be effective in the position, you must rely on a team oriented approach to handling duties, differentiate items out of spec, correlate numbers between different processes and able to organize and work independent in accomplishing sampling and testing of refined oils, biodiesel, canola meal and canola seed.The ideal candidate will have a two year technical and/or 2 years of lab experience in a related field. Knowledge of Microsoft Office with Word and Excel is preferred. Prompt attendance is a must. Ability to climb stairs, some lifting, sit and stand for long periods of time, bending, kneeling and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment. Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends as position requires. The candidate must be able to work in variety of environmental conditions.
Qualified candidate should have a basic understanding of chemistry, physical principles and operation of standard lab equipment is essential.
