Description:
As a Precision Ag Coordinator, you will work in an entry level position and will provide support and technical assistance at retail locations assigned to implement and deliver precision agriculture programs to the farmer patrons. This would include, but not be limited to:
  • GPS, GIS, crop consulting, field scouting and record keeping. Depending on territory, you may scout row crops on designated customer farms to build relationships and sales.
  •     Implement actual work of grid and contour DGPS soil sampling, developing information maps, recommendation maps.
  •     Implement variable rate application of lime and nutrients.
  •     Implement practical application of record keeping and nutrient management plans.
  •     Assist manager and FSA in marketing precision agriculture program to producers.
  •     Network with local government and extension leaders concerning Precision Ag.
  •     Participates in meetings within their sales area which offer an opportunity for sales and improved public relations as approved by supervisor.
  •     Provides technical service and recommendations to patrons and prospects. Proficient in fertilization calculation and other formulations.
  •     Provides training for other retail employees in precision ag.
  •     Assists in handling complaints.
  •     Adheres to SS No Tolerance Policy on Safety and Environment.
  •     Performs other duties
Qualifications:
  •     BS degree, or equivalent work experience in crop production
  •     CCA Certified or working toward CCA certification
  •     Three years of precision ag field experience preferred
  •     Skills in sales and communications
  •     Proficient use of MS Office
  •     Excellent interpersonal skills
  •     Valid driver's license. May require CDL
  •     College courses on Plant and Soil Sciences or equivalent work experience in this field of study is preferred.
  •    Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry up to 100 pounds. 
  • Vision, hearing and speech essential. 
  • Hand coordination to use computer. 
  • May require a valid drivers license. 
  • Job requires contact with hazardous materials and drive/travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
