Accounting Clerk I - Hebron, ND
This is a salary non-exempt level position.
We are looking for an individual ready to take on challenges and responsibilities at our Benson Quinn Elevator.
Essential Job Function:
Politely answer telephone and provide information/assistance, or route caller to appropriate staff member.
Open and distribute mail.
Import scale tickets, check for accuracy, and apply to appropriate contract.
Settle grain purchases and sales.
Enter grain shipments and perform settlement of grain shipments.
Enter contracts, mail to customer, maintain contract file.
Maintain accounts payable files, process payments for purchases under direction of manager, maintain inventory files.
Check timecards for hourly employees, assure all approvals are complete, enter time into computer system, and maintain payroll files.
Run daily reports and assure accuracy.
Perform "End of Month" procedures, including bank reconciliation, quarterly tax returns, grain movement reports and insurance reports.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
To be considered for an opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures.
Understanding of accounting practices.
Knowledge of office procedures and methods, including telephone communications, office systems and record keeping.
Proficiency with personal computer and various software packages. Troubleshoot minor computer problems.
Proficiency with various office machines, including photocopier, fax and printer. Troubleshoot minor problems.
High school graduate, 2+ years' experience in office setting.
Some coursework in office administration/accounting preferred
Exhibit regular and prompt attendance.
Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed.
Initiative and problem solving skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
Willing to work overtime or on weekends as requested by Manager.
Relocation assistance is not available with this position.
