Times-Delta Media Group is seeking a strategic, transformational, relationship focused and results-oriented Advertising Director. The Advertising Director will drive revenue growth through the Times-Delta’s broad portfolio of integrated print and digital marketing solutions.  Position requires a critical thinker, with a strong customer focus and experience transforming sales organizations. The Advertising Director must be able to embrace and communicate a World Class sales vision that inspires and motivates others, and develop sales strategies to uncover and develop market opportunities for revenue growth. The ability to quickly assess situations, establish superior partnerships and relationships with peers, business leaders, and local clients is essential.  Experience and proven results in coaching, training, recruiting and development of an energetic, inspired, and committed world-class sales organization is a must.  The ideal candidate must have a record of delivering results. The Advertising Director is a senior leadership position and reports to the Publisher.

Responsibilities:

  •     Serves as the primary Advertising & Marketing Executive. Directs and participates in all digital, print, and mobile advertising sales functions.    
  •     Leads sales team to increase revenue and market share through integrated marketing solutions.  Insures world class sales competencies are taught, embraced and practiced.
  •     Recruits, motivates and develops energetic, creative and committed sales staff.
  •     Develops and creates strategies to maximize sales resources and optimize revenue development, including multi-platform product positioning and pricing for clients of all sizes.  Utilizes Sales Force/CRM for effective sales pipeline management.
  •     Creates and executes plan to grow total and digital market share based on potential.
  •     Works with key advertisers, which includes a large base of local and locally controlled small businesses, to develop successful relationships. Makes sales calls and attends community and client events to further build customer partnerships and market growth.
  •     Maintains open communication with all employees to maximize morale and performance.
  •     Provides ongoing sales training and support to sales and management teams to ensure advertising sales success and development of staff.
  •     Collaborates effectively with the Publisher, Senior Leadership Team, Gannett Digital and other key departments to drive revenue and market share growth.

Qualifications:
  •     Strong leadership competency and excellent strategic planning, organizational, analytical, financial, sales management, relationship based and communication skills.
  •     Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills mandatory.
  •     Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM experience.
  •     Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred.
  •     Minimum 3 years of proven sales management experience.  Minimum 3 years digital sales experience.
