So here's the scoop:
It is the year 2050 and the world's population has grown to over 9 billion people. That’s a lot of mouths to feed with less land availability and less water. Agrium is looking for a few good engineers to go back in time to 2013 and help find better ways to provide enough food to feed a growing global population.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  •     The primary responsibility is to drive Process Safety Management (PSM) related findings, recommendations, and projects to completion while incorporating sound engineering principles.
  •     Review, design, manage, and execute on the completion of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) recommendation projects and Management of Change (MOC) backlog items.
  •     Assist with and/or drive site wide completion of MOC items, PHA findings, and other facility projects while ensuring PSM requirements are identified and implemented.
  •     Provide engineering assistance within PHAs, project developments, and process safety improvement initiatives.
  •     Execute identified projects with accuracy, on schedule, and on budget
  •     Complete status and progress reports of identified projects.
  •     Project management, scheduling, and cost estimating
  •     Provide contractor oversight
  •     Provide operations support

Qualifications of the position include:
  •     BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation Controls, or other relevant field) and a minimum of 5 years of experience
  •     Experience in an industrial setting governed by PSM
  •     Be a self-starter, able to work with little direct oversight
  •     Ability to work well in a fast-paced “team” environment
  •     Possess excellent communication and reporting skills
  •     Possess problem solving, trouble-shooting, and diagnostic skills
  •     Excellent computer skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  •     SAP experience is a plus
  •     Knowledge in process safety management practices such as Process Hazard Analysis and Management of Change

The following additional qualifications would be a plus:
    Project management experience
    statistical process control and/or six sigma certification
    experience with economic analysis and justifications
    corrosion and materials selection experience
    petro-chem and/or fertilizer manufacturing experience preferred
