Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land OLakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs.

Position Purpose:

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and ensuring the support of all network technologies within the enterprise to meet business requirements. This is a highly technical position that requires thorough understanding of a wide range of enterprise networking technologies. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the technical infrastructure will provide optimal performance, manageability and security as well is design and implementation of networking technologies. Technologies include: Internal and external (DMZ) routing and switching (LAN/WAN/MAN); firewalls; wireless network services; load-balancing; network utilities (such as DNS/DHCP, configuration management, performance monitoring etc.); Edge networking solutions such as remote access and Internet connectivity. Makes decisions that are critical in the areas of infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful execution of the business transactions. Proactively researches and locates necessary technologies and solutions that enhance our network services. Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the infrastructure, applications, and other IT services.

60% of activites:
Design and installation of networking solutions as mentioned above
Participate in Business, Application, Infrastructure, and Network projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the telecommunications infrastructure
Lead small-scale network services projects

30% of activites:
Research and develop recommended solutions to meet business needs and/or incorporate emerging technologies that drive improved performance, reduce cost and/or an enhancing end-user experience improving the network service we provide.
Communicate (via proposals, both written and verbal) strategies and tactics for delivering networking solutions

10% of activites:
Liaise with other IT staff
Escalate incidents as necessary to vendor partners
Provide reports on performance statistics as necessary

Qualifications:

Experience-Education (Required):

Bachelors degree with infrastructure technology related focus or related discipline or equivalent work experience
3-5 years of Cisco networking experience and related experience in related technical services
Excellent customer service skills
Moderate project management skills

Competencies-Skills (Required):

Expert knowledge in:
- Cisco Routing and Switching

- Wireless network services

- Remote access
- Internet connectivity
- DNS/DHCP

Working Knowledge in:
- Firewalls
- Network load-balancing solutions (F5)
- Network utilities
- Edge networking


Experience-Education (Preferred):

Bachelors degree with technology related focus or related discipline and equivalent work experience
5-10 years of Cisco Networking experience and related experience in related technical services
Excellent project management skills
Field installation experience

Expert Knowledge in:

- Advanced Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE)
