Beverage Applications Manager / Director

ADM has an opening for a Beverage Senior Manager / Director (depending on experience) to lead the Beverage Application team based at the ADM Headquarters in Decatur, IL.  This position will work across all of ADM's business units and product lines to support the development and applications for various ADM ingredients in beverages.

Qualifications/Experience:
 M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Dairy Science or related field of study with 10-15 years of experience in the formulation of juice and protein based ready to drink and powdered beverages.  The individual should have a detailed understanding the use of flavor systems, stabilizers and protein ingredients in the formulation of processed beverages and nutritional products. The ideal candidate would have the following capabilities:

Must be self-motivated and able to manage internal and customer defined research projects related to the application of vegetable-based protein ingredients, particularly soy proteins and sweeteners in the above mentioned application areas;
Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and relate directly to individuals from the areas of marketing, sales and production;
Must be able to manage to a team of scientists in complex projects that study ingredient interactions and methods to improve the flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of beverages;
Must be a team player, experienced supervisor and have good written and verbal communication skills including the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees;

Position: 
Individual will be responsible for working closely with customers in the formulation of vegetable-based protein, and other nutritional ingredients with appropriate flavor systems into food and nutritional applications.
This role would entail working closely with customers to incorporate new protein and other nutritional ingredients into their processed food systems and nutritional products as well as working with customers on product re-formulation, new product development, quality assessment and process enhancement.
Forming and directing project teams with a combination of directly reporting applications staff and indirectly reporting research process, sensory and product development staff to produce new ingredients for customers. Also, assisting customers produce new retail and food service products from new and existing ADM ingredients will be a key role for this position. 
The position would require approximately 25-35% travel and will be based in Decatur, IL.
