SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement or resolution of work related injuries under the terms of the specific state workers' comp law.
The essential functions of the position include: conduct an investigation to evaluate the payment or denial of workers' compensation claims; timely and correctly administer appropriate workers' compensation benefits; retain and direct outside experts such as attorneys, private investigators, and medical case managers; evaluate potential of subrogation claims and aggressively pursue recovery; negotiate settlements when appropriate; document in the claim file all actions taken to provide a complete, accurate, and self-sustaining record for current and future reference; keep volume of open claims as low as possible and maintain Company's best practice policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Four-year college degree or comparable experience preferred
Experience: 3 plus years experience preferred.
Communication Skills: Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Travel: 1-5 trips per year.
Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills.
