Curtiss-Wright Controls is seeking an outstanding individual for the role of Process Engineer for the Product Support Flight Systems Division. This role will be located at the Flight Systems’ U.S. facility in Gastonia, North Carolina, approximately 20 miles west of Charlotte, NC.
Curtiss-Wright Flight Systems is approximately a $135 million Commercial and Military Aerospace division within Curtiss-Wright Controls, the motion control segment of the $2 billion Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW). The mission of the Flight Systems Division is being the world leader in the design, manufacture, and service of high power motion control systems and components and to grow revenue via a combination of organic growth and aggressive M&A activity.
The Product Support Group within CWCFS provides outstanding repair and overhaul service for our OEM products and as well as other components such as the horizontal stabilizer, trim actuator, ball screws, and hydraulic actuation. The Product Support Group also provides rotatable inventory and exchanges to airlines and governments worldwide.
Position Title: Product Support – Process Engineer
Position Responsibilities:
Provides training and instruction as required.
Develop new capabilities to support new sales opportunities.
Supports all operations of the repair station with appropriate technical support, process router maintenance, troubleshooting support, and tooling/test rig development.
Participates, develops, and supports the creation of new repair schemes not currently in our capability.
Leads activities to develop and implement cost reductions in support of annual targets and objectives.
Provides technical support for plant layout, purchase of equipment, equipment upgrades, and feasibility studies.
Develops, prepares, and maintains repair process routings, and work instructions.
Implements and maintains work standards records.
Performs/delegates other assignments as directed by the Manager of Quality Assurance and Engineering
Liaison with interested parties, including product manufacturers, customers, and vendors, regarding development of processing requirements, troubleshooting, clarification of specifications, and other technical matters, in support of Product Support activities.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Working knowledge of aerospace component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and applicable FAA regulations, processes, and procedures.
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate, or meet the minimum requirements for certification as stated in FAR 65 (18 months minimum experience in related field).
- Microsoft Office software.
BS degree in an Engineering/Aerospace related discipline, or equivalent related work experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience
AutoCAD or equivalent computer based drafting software.
Experience establishing processing requirements for a maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility.
This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
