The Global Tax & Customs function employs approximately 200 professionals. The function is headquartered in Wayzata, Minnesota. Eighty U.S. tax professionals work at the headquarter offices. Other tax professionals are located throughout the world with principal offices in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Winnipeg, London, Amsterdam and Singapore.

The Domestic Group is currently comprised of 19 U.S. tax professionals. The Domestic Group is the center of expertise tasked with applying the U.S. tax laws to the domestic operations of Cargill, its subsidiaries and joint ventures. More specifically, the Domestic Group prepares or coordinates the preparation of all U.S. federal and state income tax forms associated with the domestic operations of Cargill. The Domestic Group also provides audit and planning support as well as ASC 740 analysis.

Tax Analyst (Domestic)

The primary responsibility of the Tax Analyst is to prepare the federal and state income tax returns associated with the U.S. operations of the Cargill group. In that capacity, the Tax Analyst will work closely with other members of the U.S. Domestic Group, the Global Tax & Customs Function, other functions and finance professionals within business units. The Tax Analyst will also assist with tax planning and process-improvement initiatives, and will prepare responses to IRS and state audit information requests.

Principal Accountabilities:

70% - Prepare Federal and State Income/Franchise tax returns as well as ASC 740 calculations
5% - Special projects related to tax planning and process improvement initiatives
20% - Researching and responding to information requests from auditors
5% - Responding to business unit inquiries

Skills:

Required:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a minimum final GPA of 3.0
    Zero to two years of tax compliance experience
    The desire and aptitude to learn complex federal and state tax rules
