Electrical Technician – Idaho FG
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held organization, with roots firmly planted in agriculture and agriculture-related businesses. These endeavors have been around for centuries and will continue to be a vital part of the global economy. We currently have several Electrical Technician positions available, for various shifts, at our newest manufacturing facility in Caldwell, ID.

Summary
These technicians ensure efficient operation of all electrical and process control instrumentation on the Idaho campus. This includes maintenance, sanitation, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical equipment on site. The individuals in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the electrical equipment throughout the plant and have the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

Responsibilities
E-Tech 1:
- Assembles, installs, tests, or maintains electrical or electronic wiring, instrumentation, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools

* Tests electrical systems or circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices such as VOMs, or oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system

- Must become qualified as E-Tech 2 within three years of being hired into this position and demonstrate proficiency in Rockwell PLCs

E-Tech 2:
- Maintains, troubleshoots and calibrates instrumentation

* Uses PLC as a troubleshooting tool

* Tests electrical systems or circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, BUS networks or fixtures using testing devices such as VOMs or oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system

General Responsibilities:
- May assist Engineering and others in developing plans for electrical and automation systems for capital and other projects

* Assists with design and layout of electrical and automation systems

- Troubleshoots and makes minor and major repairs of equipment, including automation systems, in order to prevent or minimize equipment and machine downtime

* Inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes

- Identifies and performs preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment throughout the facility, including the Water Recovery Plant and the pump houses

* Maintains all shop inventories, tools and shop equipment* Creates, performs and completes work orders in the system as assigned or as needed, prepares kitting when necessary

* Coordinates or schedules additional work as needed* Identifies parts needed for work to be done, conducts inventory searches and locates parts

* Documents, monitors, maintains, and assists with reporting of shift events, logging Predictive Maintenance data and assist with work planning utilizing information systems and productivity software

- Maintains Company standards for quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.

* Works within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others

* Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all processing equipment and tools

- Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals

- May assist with training other plant personnel

- Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Must possess current Idaho State Journeyman Electrician License. Must maintain certification throughout employment

- One (1) year of industrial work experience preferred

- A combination of education and experience will be considered

Pay Rate: $27.69/Hour
