We currently have a Field Representative 3 opportunity available for our South Central, ID Region (Glenns Ferry, Jerome, etc.). This Field Representative will report into the Caldwell, ID management team in the field department.

Job Summary

This Field Representative operates as a liaison between the company and the grower to produce the highest yield and quality of raw product possible to meet production goals. The individual meets goals through forecasting, negotiating contracts with growers, continuous monitoring of crops, seed procurement, and assessing and recommending water and insect controls.
The incumbent develops planting, harvesting, and transportation schedules with interaction between plant and field personnel. This position works very independently at the highest level, and is responsible for the most time-sensitive crops. Acres can vary from small to large but will always require the most attention.

Responsibilities

- Develops forecast using historical data
- Coordinates planting schedule based on area, harvest yield history, sales projections, and variety
- Prepares production plans in conjunction with Raw Manager and Raw Scheduler
- Consults with growers on irrigation, nutritional, and disease control programs for optimal crop health
- Evaluates crop samples and adjusts schedules as needed
- Negotiates contracts with growers regarding pricing, transportation, and harvesting
- Monitors storages
- Operates as a liaison between the company and the grower to produce the highest yield and quality of raw product possible to meet production goals.

Requirements

- Four year degree from an accredited university, preferably in agronomics, agriculture, or a related field
- Four plus years related experience and/or training
- High degree of technical and practical knowledge of plant biological functions
- Strong agricultural knowledge in planting, harvesting, and equipment
- Good knowledge of computer systems
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze multiple factors affecting plant growth and apply the data in practical situations
- Supervises less experienced Field Representatives and assigns work to field personnel
