SUMMARY:
This position will work collaboratively in a cross-discipline technical team of engineers and programmers in the development and implementation of Controls for all Tyson facilities. The candidate will be skilled in manufacturing automation design, integration, troubleshooting, engineering, programming, and consulting and able to accomplish systems analysis tasks across the Tyson enterprise; have advanced knowledge of control systems design; be able to complete complex coding requirements within project time constraints; and be willing to support installed control systems for emergency purposes outside of normal business hours. REQUIREMENTS Education: A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience.

Experience: At least 6 years of programming experience with an ability to program Modicon PLC, Magelis HMI and iFix SCADA control systems; a background in reading electrical control schematics, developing sequence of operations and converting into automation code; capable of making advanced enhancements, troubleshooting and testing for existing applications.

Computer Skills: Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Visio. PLC and HMI Languages: Proficient in languages including Concept, Unity, ProWORX, or IFix.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Certification: P.E. license a plus, but not required.

Special Skills: Excellent programming and design skills in PLC, HMI, SCADA; average mentoring and leadership skills; advanced understanding of multiple business areas within Tyson Foods; and an intermediate knowledge in the ANSI/ISA standards.

Supervisory: A Lead Controls Engineer may direct team members in project deliverables.

Travel: 15-20 trips per year. Engineer should be willing to travel to job site for investigation and start-up of control systems.
