This position will be responsible for: Maintains a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions.
Performs preventive maintenance duties on equipment as required and maintains an expert knowledge of equipment, operations and processes throughout the plant.
Disassembles and diagnoses mechanical and electrical failures and performs most difficult repairs on production and facilities equipment as required.
Installs new equipment as required, making electrical connections and aligning equipment for production use as required.
Maintains manuals of replacement parts, equipment and maintenance requirements to facilitate emergency repairs. Maintains such files and records in an orderly manner for future reference.
Develops knowledge of maintenance files, parts and vendors, and accesses information on the department computer as required.
Performs welding duties as required in repairing production equipment.
May provide work direction to less experienced Maintenance Mechanics as required.
Documents time spent and parts used on projects by completing time records through use of the RCI system.
Conducts regular inspections of production equipment and performs daily preventive maintenance duties on plant equipment.
Maintains maintenance records of work performed and provides such to a designated location.The requirements for this position include:
High Diploma or equivalent (required)
Vocational or technical training in a mechanical field or equivalent industrial work experience
Basic knowledge of process equipment
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience
Must have experience in three of the following areas:
o Welding (Certification)
o Metal fabrication
o Mechanical (2 years)
o Machinist (Technical College class completion)
o Millwright (2 years setting up and aligning new equipment)
o Electrical (Technical College class or related seminar completion)
Preferred:
Good regular and prompt attendance history
Excellent safety record and awareness
Previous plant and forklift experience (strongly preferred)
