DuPont Pioneer is seeking a Production Intern to assist the Plant Agronomist in the production of seed corn/soybean. Will be responsible for scouting and Integrated Pest Management duties including but not limited to: supply research studies, economic injury threshold evaluation, weed and disease identification, and crop progress reporting. The intern will play an important role in raising a quality and high yielding seed crop.
The intern will be exposed to a number of duties performed by Pioneer Hi-Bred International management in the day to day activities of seed production. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed by management.

The intern will be responsible for learning Integrated Pest Management techniques and crop injury thresholds. The candidate will gain a great understanding of quality seed production techniques and what goes into producing a quality seed supply.

Skills:
Pursuing a degree in agriculture related field; sophomore standing or above. The intern must possess great communication skills, the ability to work with little supervision, basic knowledge of farming practices, and thorough attention to detail. The intern will be asked to scout fields as necessary and help in any way needed during detasseling season. An agriculture background is preferred.
