Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for maintaining a balance between supply and demand within North America (NA) Seeds as they relate to the operational short-term plan based on crop or species.
Accountabilities:
- Manage and communicate supply numbers to appropriate stakeholders
- Review allocations, direct order changes, and implement allocation changes in the system
- Serve as liaison between Plant Operations, Distribution, and Customer Service to oversee and communicate necessary order adjustments to meet financial goals and satisfy customer needs
- Work with commercial and crop teams to balance supply and demand
- Provide support through communication, reporting and data analysis the critical interface between brand, supply planning, production scheduling and logistics to develop variety and site-specific conditioning schedules
- Identify and utilize quality supply for different bagging and treatment strategies
- Formulate conditioning strategies to minimize interplant costs and facilitate on-time deliveries
- Maintain effective working relationships with other key stakeholders across functions and geographies as required
- Ensure best use of technology to make processes effective and efficient
- Support special projects for Seeds Operational Planning as necessary
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Critical knowledge:
- B.S. Degree, or comparable experience in related field
- A broad knowledge of Syngenta’s product portfolio and of corresponding markets
- General sales, marketing and technical skills; knowledge of product lines; knowledge of customers and distribution channels; previous seed experience business a plus
- Broad understanding of IS systems and tools
Critical experience:
- Experience in production planning, sales, and/or customer service or relations
- Innovative thinking, desire for continuous improvement
- Experience or knowledge of SAP system, Microsoft Excel and Access and other programming, such as VBA

- - Ability to use telephone or participate on teleconferences for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- - 95% of work performed in standard office
- - 5% of work performed in field locations or meetings
- - General office environment
- - Computer usage for extended periods of time
