We currently have a Packaging Area Supervisor position available at our potato processing plant in Othello, WA.

Job Summary:
This supervisor directs and coordinates the packaging area for the production department to attain factory goals within quality specifications, budgeted cost, on-time schedule, and in compliance with Company policies. The incumbent provides leadership for overall activities and accountabilities of the packaging area for the production department working with the shift managers. This position is a member of the leadership team of the factory and must be instrumental in ensuring the success of the team. Leadership, delegation, coaching, training and subordinate development are key ingredients to the success of the individual in this position.

Responsibilities:
- Manages and coordinates all aspects of the packaging operations of the factory

- Provides leadership for the packaging team relative to training, coaching, delegation, and subordinate development

- Coordinates all planning and scheduling of the packaging area

- Facilitates continuous improvement and factory operations to ensure performance goals such as quality, sanitation, food safety, grade yield, volume, recovery, and controllable costs are met or exceeded

- Participates as leadership or a team member of assigned projects for corporate and factory objectives

- Supports the Loss Control Program to ensure no injury to self or others

- Ensures performance development process (PDP) is administered as required and team members’ development needs are identified and improved

- Ensures the interface with support personnel or groups is conducted in a participative management style that is conducive with operations goal

- Conducts oneself in a professional manner, ensures confidentiality regarding sensitive issues and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the Company

- Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational goals

Requirements:
- A four-year degree and supervisory experience is necessary

- Must have demonstrated written, verbal, and presentation/communication skills

- Must have good planning skills

- Must have a general understanding of Company and federal policies and regulations concerning sanitation, safety, security, and labor agreement

- Must have an understanding of quality assurance specifications, practices and procedures
