Job Summary:

The Sourcing Decision Analyst position will provide a great opportunity to learn about global strategic sourcing, decision analysis, and organizational performance management.  This is a fast-paced and exciting Finance position that can provide the candidate with exposure to Procurement management, Controllership, Manufacturing, Commercial, Technology, external Suppliers, and the opportunity to learn about Monsanto from an operations and commercial perspective.  In addition, this role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop skills in decision modeling, market trend analysis, working with industry benchmarks, and negotiation.

The Decision Analyst ??s primary responsibility is to provide decision support and financial analysis to the Procurement organization in order to deliver higher quality, lower cost products and services.  This will include performing decision analysis in support of strategic buying decisions, data analysis, market trend analysis and performance management.  In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence in forecasting, budgeting, and LRP planning for their area of responsibility.  The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams (including Strategic Sourcing Champions, Category Managers, Business Stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts) to help build a fact based sourcing process which brings both operational efficiencies as well as cost savings to Monsanto business units.

This position will report directly to the Sourcing Decision Analysis Lead and is located in St. Louis, MO.

 Core responsibilities include:

  •          Work with Strategic Sourcing, Global Operations, Global Procurement Finance Lead, and Global Procurement teams to streamline and improve the sourcing processes for $6 billion in annual spend.
  •          Provide decision analysis support, through the development of decision models, to the Global Procurement organization as they evaluate projects to more efficiently manage Monsanto resources.
  •          Provide financial analysis support, including savings calculation validation and spend data analysis (including support to manufacturing plants where needed) for spend categories of up to $1Billion.
  •          Develop strong cross functional relationships with and communicate regularly to Champions and Category Managers to ensure the long term success of cost savings initiatives.
  •          Support the initiative to improve the quality and discipline of the savings forecasts, with the Category Managers, for their respective areas and ensure timelines are met.
  •          Provide analytical support in researching market trends and updating key market indices.
  •          Provide assistance with statistical data sourcing and analysis.
  •          Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.
  •          Provide ongoing support ??post-wave ?? to ensure projected savings are fully captured.
  •          Prepare analysis in identifying future sourcing categories both locally and globally considering size and/or opportunity and impact to the organization.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, or analytical field
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, or analytical field
  • Successful 1-2 year track record of financial analysis experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Very Strong Excel skills
  •  Possesses ability to synthesize information from diverse sources and present findings in clear, concise fashion
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop business partnerships with both finance and non-finance customers
  • Self-motivated and ability to manage multiple assignments
