The Product Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support for dealers and customers. They assist in trainings, shows, events and conferences, and creating and organizing Precision Planting publications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Field calls from growers and dealers on technical support questions ranging from installation to in-field operation and in-field breakdowns during office hours and after hours.
  • Respond to inquiries and call-back requests placed on the online ticket system during office hours and after hours.
  • Field calls requesting information on products as it relates to sales and quoting from customers, dealers, and internal sales team.
  • Make on-site service calls when an issue has progressed past the abilities of the local dealer and remote support is no longer an acceptable option.
  • Communicate issues and future needs to R&D team on current and future products
  • Field overflow sales calls
  • Generate and edit content for technical publications including operator and installation manuals, technical and service bulletins, knowledge base articles, and product instructions.
  • Generate or source images for all technical publications listed above.
  • Lead breakout sessions of both introductory and advanced level dealer training.
  • Assist in the operation and coordination of training sessions.
  • Fabrication and maintenance of trade show demonstration stands and training boards.
  • Assist in operation of week-long Precision Planting winter conferences.
  • Assist in the set-up and preparation (up to 2 months in advance) of Precision Planting summer conferences.
  • Lead breakout sessions during Precision Planting summer conferences.
  • Set-up, tear-down, and staffing of show booths at various regional and national trade shows.
  • Rebuild and maintain planters used for trade shows, testing, training, etc. This includes the installation of all products.
  • Assist and occasionally present at Planter Technology Institute events nationwide.
  • Perform various tests on Precision Planting products against competitor ??s products to generate data for marketing department.
  • Compile, analyze, and report on test plot and field data to forward to marketing department and R&D.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Education:
  • Bachelors in Agriculture or related field
  • Excellent communicate, written and verbal
  • Flexible to adapt to and adaptable as priorities change
  • Basic agronomic knowledge
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge
  • Willing and able to learn new concepts and skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Desired Skills/Education:
  • Familiarization with agriculture equipment is beneficial
  • Advanced agronomic knowledge and mechanical skills are beneficial
