Curtin’s School of Education is pleased to offer scholarships for students studying Japanese programs at Curtin in 2014.
The undergraduate scholarship is valued at $5,000 per annum for full-time study over a three year period for single degrees or a four year period for double degrees. The scholarship may be used to cover HECS fees, books and materials, and other costs related to study at the University. Applicants must apply for entry to a Bachelor of Arts (Japenese) or double degree with Japanese at Curtin in 2014 and must continue studying a major in Japanese throughout their course. Preference will be given to applicants who have previously studied Japanese.
The Honours scholarship is valued at $6,000 for a one year full-time program leading to a BA(Hons) in Asian Languages at Curtin University. Applicants are required to have, or be about to complete, an undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline. They must also have a level of competence in Japanese language to enable them to complete their research program.
The In-country study scholarship is valued at up to $2,000 and gives the recipient the opportunity to attend an intensive language course at a Japanese University during the semester break. This offer is available for enrolled students majoring in Japanese with an excellent academic record.
The Postgraduate scholarship is valued at $7,000 per annum over three years (or part thereof for part-time students). For eligibility and conditions, please contact Dr. Yuko Asano-Cavanagh on 9266 7689 or via email at y.asano@curtin.edu.au.

Value
Each undergraduate scholarship is for $5,000 per annum for full-time study over three years (or four years for a student in a double degree program). Each honours scholarship is for a total of $6,000 for full-time study for the period leading up to the completion of the relevant degree at Curtin. These scholarships may be used to cover HECS fees, books and materials, and other costs related to study at the University.
Each In-country study scholarship is valued up to $2,000 towards attending an intensive language course at a Japanese University during the semester break.
The Postgraduate scholarship is valued at $7,000 per annum over three years (or part thereof for part-time students).
Eligibility criteria
Undergraduate students: Apply for entry to a Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) or double degree with Japanese at Curtin in 2014 and continue studying a major in Japanese throughout their course. Preference will be given to students who have previously studied Japanese.
