The primary responsibilities of this role, as Unit Supervisor, are to develop unit personnel, provide technical support, schedule production, and measure/monitor the performance of the Kansas City formulation units.

The incumbent will:

Be the unit process subject matter expert (SME), possessing the process knowledge, technical expertise, and operations experience; Assist unit personnel to resolve technical issues; perform/assist in process root cause analysis; Maintain plant-specific SAP recipes and bill-of-materials; Develop, issue and maintain SOP's; Ensure the efficient allocation and scheduling of resources and production to meet orders; Determine the materials required for scheduled production and monitor their availability to support scheduled production; Consolidate and prepare the technology-packages and work-instructions as needed for operations; Schedule maintenance and PCS work within the unit; Participate on hiring teams; Conduct operator-progression testing; Enhance team skills on unit processes, equipment, etc. and identify areas for improvement; Ensure that start-up and shutdown tasks align with unit operations activities. The selected candidate is required to possess the following:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Working knowledge of MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint);
Functional understanding required to apply and comply with all SOP's and permit-approval procedures;
10 years of experience, or equivalent, as a A-operator in a formulations & packaging environment; Functional understanding of all the formulation technologies employed at the Kansas City site (i.e. EC's, SC's, WP's & DF's);
Functional understanding of all packaging technologies employed at the Kansas City site (i.e. bottle, drum, tote, bulk, VFFS & direct-fill);
Working knowledge of KC's HSEQ systems; Working knowledge of BCS's SAP and BATs applications;
Established working relationships with the Materials Management, Maintenance, PCS, Engineering, Warehousing, QC, Formulation Development and Environmental Operations groups at the KC site; Intermediate to Advanced skills using the Delta V DCS;
The ability to work independently on various assignments and tasks;
The ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization;
Demonstrated good troubleshooting skills;
Project management skills;
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills;
Demonstrated initiative to "do what it takes" to meet or exceed customer expectations, while achieving the safety, quality, productivity and organizational expectations for the team, site and enterprise.
