SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for developing category based solutions for our largest retail customers using syndicated, shopper, consumer, and custom research data.
This position provides decision support, business analysis, and specific recommendations to our strategic customers, Tyson Customer Development Managers (sales), and marketing leadership resulting in category strategies and tactics that drive growth for both our customer’s categories and Tyson products to help achieve Tyson’s annual sales volume, distribution, share, and financial objectives.
Position will be a solutions provider that demonstrates Tyson’s thought leadership, advances customer relations, and improves Tyson’s ability to capitalize on opportunities arising from actionable category and shopper insights.
Role responsibilities include development of insights and recommendations in the areas of merchandising, promotion, distribution, assortment, pricing, trends, etc. across the Tyson portfolio.
In addition, the position must be able to think beyond just information and insights, to provide business recommendations and consulting that draws on past or other relevant experiences.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree is a plus
Experience: 5+ years applicable industry experience in shopper insights, category management, sales, and/or other relevant functions coupled with experience working with large, strategic retailers with a track record of demonstrated success in delivering business building results.
Computer Skills: Strong
Computer Skills: strong analytic and technical skills needed with expertise in Excel, syndicated data (IRI / Nielsen), and consumer panel a must; familiarity with shopper card data and experience in other analytical techniques and software tools, such as SAS, are both a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills withstrong influence, rapport building, and presentation skills required.
Special Skills: Demonstrated leadership ability with strong organizational skills and proficiency in time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and working cross functionally as a team player.
Supervisory: N/A.
