The primary responsibility of this role, as Key Account Manager Retail, is to development and implements three year business plans with select Key Retail Account (KRA) Customers that drive mutually agreed upon business goals. The incumbent will: Negotiate annual EDI, Grower POS and business share objectives and develop reward mechanisms within current resources to drive to those objectives. Implement all aspects of the BCS Key Account Management Initiative; Continually monitor the KRA’s EDI and Grower POS sales progress, track planned activities and uncover any new issues or opportunities through-out the year; Obtain current competitive information; Coordinate all the communication, planning and activities dealing with the Key Account while employing the overall resources of Bayer. Be the primary link between the KRA customer and BCS and vice-versa.
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
- B.S. in an agricultural-related science, business or appropriate related field, with a minimum of 8+ years relevant experience;
- Strong analytical, influence and innovative sales & negotiation skills;
- capable of building strategic relationships and influencing customer behavior via salesmanship & financial models or programs;
- Excellent oral, written and network communication skills to effectively provide/present information to internal and external customers;
- Understanding of the fundamentals of marketing, finance and the implication of those fundamentals on business decisions;
- Ability to work with Bayer CropScience counterparts to maximize sales opportunities;
- Above average computer proficiency including standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management). Salary and grade level will be commensurate with experience and/or education level.
