Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
Role purpose:
- Develop retail-ready marketing and sales programs for mass merchants and independent garden centers and support implementation with Retail Customer Leads (RCL)
Accountabilities:
- Define product, price, place and promotion for mass market plants and value added plants Retail Programs
- Support RCL in internal coordination around programs (esp. with KAM); coordinate proper delivery and fulfillment of programs – oversee and coordinate program development and execution
- Assess customer (retailer and consumer) needs and understand / assess retail demands (incl. participation in relevant retail events)Support RCLs in placing and selling Retail Programs to Retailers as well as the Grower Council
- Support RCLs in influencing retailer product placement Collect and Coordinate market intelligence and retailer feedback to optimize program content, customized by retailer
- Coordinate with Marketing, and product manager on product needs and promotional tools.
- Development of non-traditional GTM strategies and the design, development, implementation of a social media presence
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Critical knowledge: :
- Retail Expertise and Understanding (Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Point-of-Purchase, Social Media, Data Analytics, Marketing Programs, Consumer Research / Behaviors)Marketing (esp. Program Design / Development)Pricing
- Knowledge of Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry and / or Product Knowledge in Ornamental Horticulture
- Industry Understanding (esp. around the E-2-E Value Chain by product category)
Critical experience:
- 5 years+ in a retail-based marketing program management role with involvement in Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Point-of-Purchase, Social Media, Data Analytics, Marketing Programs, Consumer Research / Behaviors
- Preference is for previous / current role with Big Box Consumer Goods Company
