We are seeking an enthusiastic team player to work as part of the Insect & Plant Propagation team within Insecticide Research at the BASF facility in RTP.

Primary responsibilities:
Ensuring the production of quality plants for research.
Updating a weekly planting schedule.
Monitoring and reporting on plant health, pest populations and environmental conditions and initiating action when problems develop.
Overseeing research projects.
Communicating with customers to ensure research needs are met.
Coordinating a safe and healthy work environment.

Some weekend and holiday work is required.

 Required:
AAS degree with minimum 2 years growing plants in an organized program (ex: Research Greenhouse, Nursery Propagation or Related Experience) - OR - a BS degree with experience growing plants in an organized program (ex: Research Greenhouse, Nursery Propagation or Related Experience).Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.Team oriented.Good observational skills. Able to lift 30 lbs, and work in demanding and varied environments (hot, humid, cold, dusty) throughout the year. Able to work on weekends and holidays as needed.Computer experience with business software.

Desired:
Experience in a research greenhouse.Knowledge of plant propagation techniques for a variety of agricultural species.Intermediate-level experience with MS Excel.Open to flexible scheduling.
