SUMMARY:
This job is responsible for ensuring the plant safety and industrial hygiene programs are in compliance with the corporate health and safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA, EPA and Kansas state standards and regulations.

Other responsibilities include:
conduct periodic safety and health walk through inspections of all workplace facilities; ensure that monthly safety training and all other specifically required training is provided for all team members. Monitor program for reporting and investigation into "near miss" situations; conduct investigations into team member inquiries suggestions and complaints; assist safety manager in safety audits; maintain required safety documents and files; transport team members to doctor's appointments; report any deviations to management. Safety specialist will be assigned to working 2nd & 3rd shift occasionally for training and investigating.
