The Finance Coordinator will support the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP), a global USAID funded award. Save the Children is one of several sub-recipients to Jhpiego (a Johns Hopkins University affiliated organization). The primary purpose of the assignment is to assist with daily finance and grants tasks, set up routine systems for financial monitoring, assisting with record retention (electronic and hard copy), and help organize program documents. As needed, s/he will also assist with administrative tasks. The assistant will collaborate closely with Program Officers and Finance/Grants Managers to ensure maximum efficiency in programmatic support.

Responsibilities:
Payment processing – Analyze invoices against agreement documents, verify accuracy, allowability, allocability and reasonableness, liaise with respective finance and grant manager, organize and attach all support documents, obtain proper approval, update tracking sheet, retain a soft and hard copy and submit to finance office for payment.

Finance:
Assist in preparation of Reclass of expenses

Gather accrual and projected expenditure information from country offices and assist in preparing the quarterly consolidated financial report.

Assist in analyzing staff LOE charges across multiple grants and communicate for program manager and Grant & Finance managers during budget preparation.

Assist in gathering quarterly financial report, annual VAT report and inventory report from each country office and follow timely submission of the reports and provide to the respective G&F manager.

Assist in reviewing budget computations; verify consistency between budget and budget narrative.

Administrative:
Organize finance & grants electronic files including files on the shared drive.

Update or create systems for knowledge management of financial monitoring data

Track modifications, get approvals and signatures and update the status on the modification tracking sheet and return hard copies to donor.

Assists in posting a variety of documents on CGRS, request approval and follow until approved by all relevant individuals and upload final and fully executed awards/modifications and budget/narrative.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or equivalent required, with an emphasis in finance and accounting.

3-5 years of experience managing budgets, grants, contracts and sub-grant operations, preferably gained in an international relief/development agency and on USAID awards.

Experience as a financial analyst.

Knowledge of GAAP principles.

Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations required.

Ability to develop and manage multiple budgets simultaneously.

Skills in monitoring, reviewing, analyzing and summarizing financial information and preparing time-sensitive financial reports.
